Kiss Heckler (#3): Not-so-magical kisses

July 12, 2011

Whether you love the books or hate them or don’t give two cents about them, you can’t deny that the final Harry Potter movie is going to be released to a voracious public this week. Getting into the spirit of things, how about a heckle? You can skip to minute marker 0:23 for the start of the awkwardness.

Do I even need to heckle this kiss? It’s technically supposed to be a crummy kiss, so really, it’d just be mean spirited of me to point out the bizarre leaning of the pair and the startling increase in the musical score right as they start the liplock. I love the upward camera pan pointing out that Harry and Cho are stiff and separated.

There has to be a spell for better kissing. Would Smoochify! do the trick? Or would Accio Ginny be better?

Is this clip a joke? Referring to the swelling music during the bureaucratic kiss, did the producers of Harry Potter not have enough money to write their own soundtrack? I mean, they appropriated the Anakin and what’s-her-name love theme from the second set of Star Wars movies, note-for-note, it seems.
Thank you for reenforcing in my mind the depths of mediocrity to which our art has fallen. Harry potter: yawwwwn. It’s not only bland, it recycles music.

Well, as I said, the kiss IS supposed to be a bad example of a kiss due to the storyline, but I agree, there’s no excuse for the music.

The excuse for the music is because someone, whoever made the video, substituted the music into the scene. It *does not* have that music originally. Just letting you know! 😉

Oooh, hey, good to know. Wow, now I have to wonder why anyone would substitute that music into the clip. That makes no sense.
