Simple Concepts That Inspire Me
I love to look at someone else’s dream, wistfully tilt my head, and think about the fact that a simple concept can become something big and strong. (I may add to this list over time.)
Concept: “Everyone on the planet should have access to clean drinking water.”
Result: charity: water
charity:water is a nonprofit company dedicated to drilling clean-water wells around the world and changing the world by doing so. Another of my favorite sites, Cake Wrecks, got involved, too: Water Works.
Concept: “I will spend a year doing something at least a little brave every day.”
Result: If I Were Brave (blog)
I love following Dory on her journey away from being, in her own word, “chicken” (or is that being goose, Dory?) and becoming brave.
Concept: “I will trade a paperclip for a house.”
Result: One Red Paperclip
It’s the story of a man who traded up until he got a house. (Kyle MacDonald, the guy with the paperclip, has a more recent project, too: Store Buyout.)
Do you know of a simple concept that’s been turned into something impressive and inspiring? By all means, please share it in the comments!
